Pentimento Restaurant Stony Brook

The food and company is just delightful. When u walk in u get this whole warm feeling that you are going to be suprised for the special dinner. Tonight I am attending the port jeff beer first dinner. The starter was sensational seared fennel scented sea ( paired with a schooner pale ale) scallops was out of this world, the zucchini pesto brought a whole new meaning of pesto with sweet and spicey essences of the fennel seed and fried onions. To follow was Fried truffles Beef Marrow Mac & Cheese ( paired with ryes n back ale) Omfg if Julia Childs was alive she would not only have this dish once but twice and change the way of french cooking. After bighting into the lightly fried mac & cheese the aroma of the truffle and the tast of the beef marrow filled the air and after having a sip of the ryes n bake ale gave it a nice big flavor of hickory and smoke. But what really got the crowd going was the Braised Lamb Spare Ribs that glazed with their home made beer bbq sauce/ and a jalapeño potato gallete. After just having one bite of the lamb spare rib the spices just changed everything, it felt like I was on my family vacation in Mexico tasting and smelling every spice in the farmers market. Mosimo is the most gifted chef at Pentimento Restaurant and did a fabulous job of pairing every dish with each beer which really brought the joy of cooking to people. And like every great artists they have their muses to end a detectable night was a Peanut Butter Tart that had Braised bananas/candied bacon with an amarena milkshake (oatmeal stout) was created by their other chef Chelsea, who is truly talented when it comes to a dessert that really brought crowd asking for more. The combination of peanut butter/ chocolate brownie and bananas would give that instant sensation of that childhood favorite peanut butter and bananas sandwich with that remarkable flavor of the candied bacon which could make your stop but it doesn't. You take that delicious sip of the amarena milkshake and feels like you've been wrapped up in a blanket of black forest dream for life. Congratulations to the staff, Mosimo, Chelsea and everyone at Pentimento for a wonderful night and would like rate you ☆☆☆☆☆☆. And Bon Apatite.

Dear Dennis, Lisa and Staff, Thank you so much for making my daughters Bridal shower (Samantha) perfect. From letting us in early to add the personal touches. Thank you Lisa for adding the flowers in the room and paying attention to every detail. The staff was attentive from start to finish. The food was incredible as well as the mimosa bar.
